BIO

Characterized as highly spirited and equally relentless, Amy approaches her tasks with a high level of focus and vigor. 

Amy was admitted to practice in 2020 and has since worked on a plethora of civil and criminal matters. Her portfolio currently consists of sports law matters, family and children’s court matters, probate matters, property law matters, trade dispute matters, personal injury matters, and criminal defence. Amy is determined on diversifying her portfolio and so accepts a variety of different matters. 

Outside of the office, Amy volunteers at a number of animal shelters, sits on the board of a cycling club, and holds position as a director and corporate secretary of a non-partisan organization aimed at educating youths on the importance of their political decisions. Amy is also involved in the discipline of Combat Sports and Cycling at a competitive level, which acted as the catalyst for her interest in Sports Law. Amy’s exposure to these different bodies allows her to bring a multi-disciplined and practical approach to problem-solving. 

Amy completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of London externally, through the Institute of Law and Academic Studies. She then attended the University of Law, Manchester Campus to complete her Legal Practice Course.

  • CV 2022-01540 ANSA MERCHANT BANK LIMITED AND JOHN’S PLUMBING AND MAINTENANCE SERVICE LTD AND OWEN JOHN – Represented the Defendants and successfully settled the matter.
  • A CLEAN SLATE – Successfully had marijuana charges removed from a Client’s (name concealed for Client privacy) Police Record.
  • TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO ARCHERY FEDERATION – Successfully represented the Trinidad and Tobago Archery Federation in settling a dispute with a one of their current Board Members. 
  • CV2021-03464 CHRISTIAN GRANT -AND- PETER LEE FONG A.K.A. PAUL SOLOMON – Secured judgement for the Claimant for a breach of Promissory Note by the Defendant.
  • CV2022-00755 SHONETTA LONG AND TAFFOYA FRANCIS – Successfully represented the Claimant and secured an injunction against the Defendant to remove sexually explicit material of the Claimant, from a social media platform.
  • TGO 2021- 01206 – WPC PARKS No. 9052 vs THE ACCUSED – Successfully defended the accused who was charged with the sexual touching of a minor. The matter was discharged.
  • CASE NO. C-NORTH-AP-3684-2021-1 IN THE MATTER OF AN APPLICATION PURSUANT TO SECTION 4 OF THE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ACT CHAP 45:56 (AS AMENDED) – Successfully defended the Respondent who was subject of a complaint for Domestic Violence. The complaint against the Respondent was dismissed.
