PRO BONO

As a boutique law chambers, we take our corporate social responsibility seriously.

While the Constitution affords all persons, regardless of their race, sex, background, nationality or social status the same fundamental rights and freedoms it is a reality of the times we live in that not everyone is able to access and enforce these rights without the right help.

At New City Chambers, we are committed to doing our part in helping tip the balance in favour of those persons who otherwise struggle to access justice.

This makes pro bono work a core aspect of our culture.

“…we are committed to doing our part in helping tip the balance in favour of those persons who otherwise struggle to access justice.”

We dedicate hundreds of hours to doing pro bono to those. Typically most of our pro bono work is in the areas of Immigration Law, where we fight for fair treatment for those who often slip through the cracks. Industrial Relations law as well as education cases and cases in which child welfare is an overwhelming feature also feature highly on the list of matters taken on by our members on a pro bono basis by members of chambers.

Sometimes our work involves complex contested litigation argued on short notice, tribunal work as well as confidential advisory work to assist our clients in making those difficult decisions from a confident and informed perspective.
